Navarre Beach Fire Rescue District is a full time career department located on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico in Navarre, Florida.
Personnel​: Chief, Deputy Chief, 3 Captains, 6 Firefighters (3 shifts 48 on 96 off).
Apparatus: One Engine, ​one 75 ft Ladder, three 4×4’s (for beach rescues), and two Jet-skis with rescue sleds.

Public Purpose: The purpose of Navarre Beach Fire Rescue District (“District”) is to promote the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens and residents of Santa Rosa County who reside within the geographical limits of that area known as the Navarre Beach Fire Rescue District, by providing for: fire protection services, facilities, and firefighting equipment; the establishment and maintenance of fire stations and fire substations; the acquisition and maintenance of all firefighting and protection equipment necessary for the prevention of fires or fighting of fires; the employment and training of such personnel as may be necessary to accomplish fire prevention and firefighting; the establishment and maintenance of emergency service; the acquisition and maintenance of rescue and other emergency equipment; and the employment and training of necessary emergency personnel. The District may provide advanced life support services within the district’s boundaries. The District shall have all other powers necessary to carry out the purposes of the District as otherwise provided by law, including, but not limited to, the power to adopt all necessary measures, rules, regulations, and policies relating to said purposes.

  5. District’s Charter: Navarre Beach Fire Rescue’s charter may be viewed in full on this website. This District was created in 2022 by the Committee Substitute for House Bill No. 651, Chapter 2022-235 This independent special district operates under Chapters 189 and 191, Florida Statutes. It has been established as a board of five commissioners, elected, organized and operating under Chapter 191, Florida Statutes.
  6. Boundaries/Service Area: The portion of Santa Rosa County including all of sections 36-2S-27, 31-2S-26, 32-2S-26, 33-2S-26 and 28-2S-26, and also including the southern half of the Navarre Beach Causeway.

    Navarre Beach Fire Rescue District collects Non-Ad Valorem Assessments approved by the Board of Fire Commissioners at the rates listed below:

    Residential Properties: $500
    Vacant Land: $63
    Commercial Properties: $0.41/per square foot

    The District also collects Impact Fees on new residential or commercial structures as defined and approved by its Board of Fire Commissioners on February 14, 2023 in Resolution No. 0001-22 at the rates listed below:

Navarre Beach Fire Rescue District Firefighters’ Pension Board of Trustees

The NBFRD Pension Board consists of five citizens. Two members are appointed by the NBFRD Board of Fire Commissioners, two are full-time NBFRD firefighters and the fifth member is chosen by the Pension Board Trustees. Trustees serve on the board for two years.

Meetings are held quarterly per Florida State requirements at 1413 Utility Drive, Navarre, FL 32566. The meetings are open to the public and are always welcome to attend.
